Stromboli is a very unique island, being an active, erupting volcano. You can see the small eruption of magma from afar or even hike up there with a booked tour, for example with Magmatrek. While the small village Ginostra in the west can only be reached by boat, San Vincenzo is the main tourist hub. Here you find the fabulous Bar Ingrid with lots of delicious pastries, antipasti and cocktails right across the yellow church San Vincenzo Ferreri. Stromboli’s eruption can be seen best during sunset from the sea, boat tours start from the small port in San Vincenzo and take you to Sciara del Fuoco, where you can watch the spectacle.
